United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Our commitment to the Global Goals

He Is Not Your Project does not simply align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We actively contribute to them.

Background

What are the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals?

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They represent a shared blueprint for peace, prosperity, and sustainability — for people and the planet.

The SDGs provide an internationally recognised framework that connects our work to a broader global commitment to education, equality, health, and peace. That connection matters for how we partner, how we advocate, and how we measure our impact.

SDG 4

Quality Education

Our strongest alignment. He Is Not Your Project is fundamentally an educational initiative. SDG 4 promotes inclusive, equitable quality education and lifelong learning — including education that advances human rights, gender equality, and peaceful societies. Every course, resource, workshop, school program, and relationship literacy tool we build contributes directly to this goal.

SDG 5

Gender Equality

Equally central to our work. SDG 5 supports the empowerment of women and girls through increased knowledge, confidence, and access to education. We are not addressing violence after it happens — we are contributing to prevention through education. Gender equality is recognised globally as a foundation for safer and more prosperous societies, and relationship literacy is one of the most direct paths to it.

Alignment strength

SDG 3

Good Health and Well-being

Healthy relationships are a significant contributor to mental and emotional wellbeing. By helping women recognise unhealthy relationship patterns earlier, understand emotional abuse, and access support, our work promotes wellbeing and reduces long-term harm — to individuals, families, and communities.

SDG16

Alignment strength

SDG 16

Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

SDG 16 promotes peaceful, inclusive societies, access to justice, and the reduction of violence. Education about respectful relationships, coercive control, and early intervention contributes directly to these aims — and positions relationship literacy as a matter of justice, not just personal wellbeing.

Our commitment

Local education. Global impact.

Our SDG alignment means we can speak the language of grant bodies, international frameworks, and institutional partners. We are actively seeking collaborations that share our commitment to prevention.

When women understand relationships, they change relationships. And when enough women change relationships, we begin to change culture.
