Relationship Literacy for Secondary Schools

Equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed relationship decisions throughout their lives.

About the Program

About the Program

He Is Not Your Project has been developed to support secondary schools in providing students with practical, evidence-informed education about healthy relationships, personal responsibility, boundaries, self-worth, and recognising unhealthy relationship patterns before harm occurs.

The program introduces students to the concept of Relationship Literacy — an educational approach that explores not only what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like, but also the beliefs, expectations and decision-making processes that influence relationship choices.

Our goal is to equip young people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed relationship decisions throughout their lives.

Educational Approach

Curriculum and Educational Approach

The Relationship Literacy Program has been developed with reference to the Australian Curriculum, student wellbeing priorities, and contemporary research relating to healthy relationships, communication, personal safety and respectful relationships.

As education requirements differ across Australian states and territories, individual learning outcomes may be adapted to align with local curriculum frameworks and school priorities.

The program is designed to complement — not replace — existing wellbeing and respectful relationships education.

A Pilot Program

Become a Founding Education Partner

We are currently inviting a limited number of secondary schools to participate as Founding Education Partners during the pilot phase. Pilot schools will have the opportunity to contribute valuable feedback that will help shape the ongoing development of Australia's Relationship Literacy initiative.

Our Approach to Evidence

Evidence-Informed and Continuously Evolving

He Is Not Your Project has been developed from contemporary research, counselling theory, educational practice and lived experience.

The program has been intentionally designed as a living educational initiative, meaning resources will continue to evolve as new research, educational practice and evaluation data become available.

By incorporating student and educator feedback alongside emerging evidence, our goal is to continually strengthen the program and ensure it remains relevant, practical and meaningful for future generations.
